Snapchat Impersonation Scam

In October of 2025 I woke up to a bunch of random instagram users trying to message me. It was about 7 accounts saying that someone on snapchat was using photos of me to scam people into sending them money. I was super confused and scared because I wasn’t sure what the snapchat account was saying to these people and they were using photos of me to do so. I ended up responding to one of the DM’s asking them to send me the snapchat account so that I could report it. The account then sent me a link to snapchat and said in order for me to report the account I had to re login. I immediately knew it was a scam because I know that when you report an account on snapchat you don’t have to give your username AND password. Moral of the story you have to be very careful with social media nowadays because even if accounts look legit they still could be trying to steal your information. The accounts reeled me in by saying I was being impersonated which scared me, If i didn’t know any better and was foolish enough to login to that link they could’ve stolen my snapchat account. I blocked all 7 accounts and I haven’t gotten a single message about someone impersonating me since then.
